Median Salary : $40,576

Truck drivers transport a variety of cargo by using tractor-trailers and other large vehicles for local deliveries to nationwide hauls. Destinations include manufacturing plants, retail stores, or distribution centers. Some loads require long hours or night driving, and truck drivers must hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Drivers ensure that all inventory makes it on time with no damage. Drivers collect signatures to verify shipment delivery, collect payment, and file the proper paperwork. They must maintain safety through preventative maintenance.
